The role:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director for the Japan and Korea markets, with a primary focus on the LNG & Energy sectors. As a Sales Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business opportunities and expanding our presence in these critical markets. This role is tailored for a “hunter” who is motivated by generating new leads, building strong client relationships, and achieving aggressive sales targets.
You will report into the MD for Asia who is also based in Singapore and work closely with the Product, Customer Success and Sales Revenue Operations functions to provide a best-in-class experience for prospective and existing clients.
Requirements
You will be responsible for…
1. Achieving the yearly sales and revenue targets: by identifying, building, and strengthening relationships with prospects, customers, and partners
2. Market Expansion: Identify and explore new business opportunities within Japan and Korea markets.
3. Client Acquisition: Prospect, target, and secure new clients by conducting market research, identifying potential clients, and actively approaching them
4. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations, including energy companies, government bodies and utilities companies.
5. Strategic Planning: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy and business development plan to achieve set revenue and market share growth targets.
6. Negotiations: Lead negotiations, prepare proposals, and close deals effectively, ensuring they align with company objectives.
7. Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive developments, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, our Analyst group and finance, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and meet customer requirements.
9. Reporting: Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management. Proficient use of CRM tools such as Salesforce.
10. Channel partner development: Driving local partnerships in Asia where needed to better serve our customers.

Skills & Experience…
· Hunter mentality and track record of new business success in a proactive sales environment
· 6+ years’ experience within a sales or business development role within the energy commodities industry (SaaS Sales a plus) in a solution sales environment
· Strong relationship building and relationship management skills
· Excellent communication skills – verbal and written in English, Japanese and and ideally Korean
· Experience using CRM systems, such as Salesforce
